Bob Arganbright : Down Under Review

By Bob Arganbright
Combat handguns
March 2002

High Noon Holsters Offers an excellent example of a strong side, inside-the-pants hip rig for full size auto pistols. The Down Under model is constructed of rough side out cowhide or horsehide. The holster does an excellent job of enclosing the trigger guard, it is an open top holster with a large tab extending upward from the back top side, which is molded to accept a cocked and locked Colt Gov't Model or any gun you order it for.  The detail molding prevents the thumb safety lever from working into the off position.  A sight channel or site track as high noon calls it, is securely stitched into the leading inside edge of the holster.  Additional security is provided by an adjustable tension devise placed an inch below the trigger guard area. The top edge of the holster is synthetically reinforced, to prevent holster collapse after the handgun is drawn, as well as to facilitate one-hand holstering.  The holster attaches to the belt in an FBI rake position with dual belt loop straps that are secured with heavy duty snap fasteners, or a heavy duty steel clip.  High Noon Holsters' Down Under is an outstanding example of a concealment holster that's fast into action.
